Safari Scholars is a special educational opportunity for Homeschooled and Cyber-Schooled students ages 5-12. Students learn about animals, conservation, and environmental issues through interactive lessons in inquiry-based classes. Classes will include animal presentations, touch tables with biofacts, and special tours. Students will be grouped in different classrooms according to age. Please be sure to register your child(ren) for the appropriate age group(s).
Parents will receive a lesson plan of each class for their records, and children will receive a Certificate of Participation at the conclusion of the 4th class. Cost: Members - $40/student; $32/each additonal student from the same family; Non-members - $68/student; $60/each additional student from the same family.

This is a four week program; when registering for an age group, you are registering for all four days. Fall 2017 dates:
12:30pm-3:00pm each day
Habitat Investigators - ages 5&6
Students will explore the characteristics of some of the biggest habitats in the world, including oceans, rainforests, temperate forests, and grasslands. We'll look at animals from each habitat and examine the adaptations that make them uniquely fitted for life within.
Vertebrate Variety - ages 7-9
Students in these classes will learn the distinguishing characteristics of the five vertebrate groups - fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and birds.
Working Wild - ages 10-12
Students will explore the careers available at the Zoo. Emphasis will be placed on animal related careers such as zookeepers, veterinarians, and researchers.
