Idearc Media Mother's Day Celebration
Mom's go wild this Mother's Day at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Moms get in free when accompanied by their kids. Moms can enjoy chair massages, beauty consultations, self-defense demonstrations, and planting tips.

Wild About Cats and Dogs
Have you thought about adding a new four legged friend to your family? Local shelters and rescue leagues will be at the Zoo introducing you to some of the many animals they have available for adoption. You can also get to know the Zoo’s cats and dogs, our lions, Amur tigers, and snow leopards, and African wild dogs. See these animals receive special enriching items, meet the keepers who care for them, learn fun facts, and enjoy live entertainment from the countries these animals originate from such as African drumming, Indonesian storytelling, and more.

The 2008 Save Our Wild Salmon National Road Show
Giant Salmon swims to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium from the Northwest!
The Columbia & Snake river watershed in the Pacific Northwest was once home to the most magnificent runs of salmon and steelhead trout in the world. Today, these national treasures are spiraling towards extinction. This spring, the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition hits the road, going from coast to coast to raise awareness about the plight of these wild fish, their rivers and the communities that depend on them. The centerpiece of the tour is an enormous 25-foot salmon sculpture named ‘Fin.’ Come down and learn more about wild salmon and the opportunities to both enjoy and save them for future generations.
