The International Conservation Center offers exciting opportunities for teachers and students to learn about elephants, biodiversity, habitats, adaptations, conservation, and more. With programs available for Pre-K through 12th grade, we have programs for every student.
All programs have the option to add on a 30-minute wagon tour for an additional cost.
Field Trip Programs by Age
Our International Conservation Center Education Specialists will guide your preschoolers and kindergarteners through one of our interactive classroom programs, featuring elephant-themed stories, songs, and biofact exploration. Classroom programs can accommodate up to 25 students and last 45 minutes.
Cost: $7 per student. Minimum of 15 paying participants.
Animals Big and Small
Animals come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny ants to giant elephants. Students will compare animal sizes and learn more about one of the largest animals in the world – the elephant!
I Want to be a Zookeeper!
How do you bathe an elephant? Can you trim an elephant’s nails? The International Conservation Center is home to incredible animals, cared for by expert zookeepers. Students will learn how Zookeepers care for the ICC herd and the conservation biologists who protect elephants in their natural habitat.
Our International Conservation Center Education Specialists will guide your students through one of our interactive classroom programs, featuring interactive activities, biofact exploration, and outdoor fun and games (weather permitting). Classroom programs can accommodate up to 25 students and last 45 minutes.
Cost: $7 per student. Minimum of 15 paying participants.
Elephant Explorer
From trunk to tail, elephants have some amazing adaptations! Students will discover how elephants survive in their habitats with unique adaptations.
Pennsylvania Pride
This class introduces students to the wonderful variety of wildlife that lives in Pennsylvania. The students will focus on animals found in their own backyards and learn that conservation begins at home.
African Adventures
The African Savanna is home to some of the largest and most unique animals on the planet. Discover how the circle of life applies to the creatures that live in this remarkable habitat.

Animals in Jeopardy
In a lively game of endangered species jeopardy, this class examines why animals are endangered and what zoos and aquariums are doing to help in the conservation of these incredible species.

Take the scientific method out of the textbook and put it into practice in this hands-on exploration of animal behavior. Discover why we study ethology (animal behavior), and participate in a behavioral study of one of our animals.

Conservation Heroes
Like many species around the world, elephant species are in decline. This interactive program will focus on how zoos are helping to preserve the animals that are rapidly vanishing from our planet. Students will be introduced to the Species Survival Plans that zoos have designed and utilized in their worldwide efforts to preserve species such as elephants, bison, and Amur tigers.
